Erin Baskin

Coach

Qualifications: CF-L1, USA Weightlifting Sports Performance Coach

Erin and her family relocated to Yuma after many years of living on the East coast. After leaving the military in 2010, Erin began running and racing in various distances, eventually adding marathons and ultra marathons to her log book. Ever the competitor at heart, distance running left her needing to develop strength and speed, so she looked to CrossFit for help. A few years and two kids later, Erin is focused on continually growing as an athlete, coach, and believes focusing on fitness as a family will make the future a better place!

Coach Katy Chernick

Coach

Qualifications: N/A

Katy and her husband Dave relocated to Yuma in the winter of 2009 from Cleveland, Ohio. She spent years as a middle school math teacher, and high school girls basketball and track coach before having her first child. After having two boys back to back, she decided to find a healthy way to release stress. Spending years working out to Beachbody videos and running then adding a daughter to the mix, left her searching for more until a friend took her to a CrossFit class in 2017. After that class she gave up working out alone and joined her first CrossFit gym. The camaraderie felt in the gym was something she hadn’t felt since coaching high school sports. Katy knew that she wanted to work towards being a CF-L1 trainer and continue fostering the sense of community she’d grown to love.
